    I suppose you should get your meal for free if it truly had been one of the best things in life. If it was simply excellent, pay up.

    I think the implication is “Don’t worry about your money. Just give it all to us. Relax, the best things in life are free!” Someone was hoping for a big tip.

    They seem to be forgetting the rest. “But you can give them to the birds and the bees/I want the money.” Damn. Now the song is stuck in my head.
